Sin. The biggest thing that has the power to make us believe we can be separated from our Heavenly Father.

Let me paint a picture for you. You’ve just done something you know you’re not supposed to do. Maybe it’s a bad habit that you’ve been battling with, or a one time action you took to get out of a sticky situation.

While you were doing it, you knew you shouldn’t. That it was wrong. That going through with it would most likely make your Heavenly Father disappointed in you. But you do it anyway.

And almost on the heels of completion comes the guilt and shame. The fear that He no longer loves you. Is no longer listening to you. That you can’t access Him anymore. That you now have to work extra hard to get back in His good graces.

That picture isn’t fictional, but my story before I understood how God’s forgiveness worked. I wonder if you’ve ever felt those emotions before?

But you know what I learned recently. It’s all a lie. Yes, our sin can make us feel separated from God, but it’s never because He left us, but rather because we’ve left Him. And there’s a way back that doesn’t involve hard work. We’ll talk about that way in a few weeks, but first I want to share 10 Bible Verses About God’s Forgiving Nature with you.

Because, I think before you can fully appreciate how to access God’s forgiveness, you need to understand that it’s already there for you. You can’t work for it, you can’t beg for it, it’s there. I mean, that’s pretty much the point of the whole gospel. But sometimes, it helps to read specific verses that reassure us of God’s forgiving nature towards His children.
